Build Commands & Output Directories
Customize build scripts, specify output directories, and configure monorepo subpaths for seamless compilation.
Build Settings Fundamentals
AcadSites inspects your repository to determine framework presets. However, complex projects with custom scripts or monorepos often require explicit build configuration. You can customize these in Project Settings > Build & Development Settings.
Standard Build Presets Table
Review recommended settings for the most popular modern web stacks:
| Framework | Build Command | Output Directory | Start Command |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vite / React | npm run build | dist | N/A (Static Edge) |
| Next.js (Standalone) | next build | .next | node .next/standalone/server.js |
| Astro | npm run build | dist | N/A (Static Edge) |
| Static HTML | None (empty) | public or . | N/A (Static Edge) |
| Express / Node.js | npm run build (optional) | . | npm start / node server.js |
Monorepo & Subdirectory Configuration
In monorepos containing multiple packages (such as Turborepo, Nx, or pnpm workspaces), specify the Root Directory (e.g., apps/web). AcadSites will navigate into this folder before executing dependency installation and build commands.
Injecting Build-Time Variables
Public framework variables (such as NEXT_PUBLIC_* or VITE_*) must be available during build time. Ensure you add these under the Environment Variables tab before triggering your build.
